Print Block & King of Pop

So I didn't get to show you any of my back to school outfits this week, I've been a little busy with getting adjusted to classes and my extra time, catching up on sleep and working out a couple times a day ;) (I'm determined to get my abs toned before my birthday, so I can treat myself to my rib tat=)).  But here is a little something from today.  Nothing real extra, just playing with print block a little bit.  I wore a different version of this outfit once at the end of my senior year, so I thought I'd pull it out again, sooooo yeah.  =)

I wish I could show my eye make-up colors a little more.

Dorm Life

Ello!  Happy Back to school.  =D
Soooo, I moved into my dorm last Thursday, and classes started today, and I've been wanting to show you guys some pics of my dorm.   I'm in a quad in the fine arts dorm (Ayeeeee), so my room is actually pretty big... well it's long.  And since the day I've moved in, there's always 3-4 extra people in my room who don't live there, who may or may not go to the school, lol.  But whatever.  Here are some pics, I was trying to wait until I was finished decorating, but I'll just update later.

Hey there.  So remember how I said I'm not into spending immense amounts of money on clothing items, or at least what I think is a lot...  Well, somehow I found myself in URBAN OUTFITTERS.  Hahah.  This post is just a quick something showing some of my recent purchases from there.

My first item is a Floral Low Cut Low Back Midriff Top...

Beach Bum & Thrifting Bliss

So, I love shopping (kinda) like most women, but if you're like me, you have an issue with spending outrageous amounts on single items.  I mean I'm a college student (well almost) so I don't have money like that anyways, but if I did, I still couldn't fathom spending $70 on 2 or 3 items... but I digress.  I say this to say, that I have recently started thrifting in the past month or so, and I am very pleased; I've come across some inexpensive treasuries and I feel like everyone should go thrifting at least once in life, especially if you don't have stacks on deck. So far I've gone to Avalon on Coventry, where everything mostly ranges from $12 to $24ish more or less, to a church on Fairmount where I literally found 2 staple cardigans for $4.50 total... (Speechless, right?), and a few other cool places.  So I'm going to show you most of my finds, and how I personally style them.

That's it for my thrift goods, at least for now.  I hope this helped current/future thrifters.  Also hope you enjoyed the pictures.  Thank you to my awesome photographer J.OATES!  We took so many pictures, so you'll be seeing more soon.  Last thing I want to leave you with is just a few thrifting tips that I've found helpful.  Feel free to comment below with your own thrifting experiences, tips, advice, or whatever you feel like writing.

1.) Look for things that you wouldn't typically find at the mall or mainstream stores.
*I love finding funky patterns and prints that I know no one else will have.  I save
buying tank tops and sweats and things at regular stores.  Keep in mind most of
the clothes are pre-owned, so pick wisely.

2.) Try things on.
*Thrifting is just like regular shopping.  So if you want to see how something fits, or see
how it looks on you, GO AHEAD!

3.) You don't have to stay in your lane.
*By that I mean, look for things in different sizes and departments.  When I was looking for
an oversized jean button down, the first place I went was to the men's section.  I mean why
not?  If you're a small, don't be afraid to look in the medium and large section, and vice
versa.  Step out of your element!

4.) Wash your stuff before you wear it.
*I know I said you can try stuff on, and you can, but you still want to wash it before you
actually wear it for an extended amount of time.  Like I said, most stuff in thrift stores is
pre-owned and pre-worn, and I'm not sure if the store washes/cleans the clothes they get
before they put them on the floor, but to be on the safe side, wash 'em first.

5.) Trade/Sell your own clothes!
*Most, if not all thrift stores, do exchanges and/or will buy your clothes.  So if you have
clothes that you don't want or wear just sitting in your closet, in a drawer, on the floor,
wherever, take 'em to the thrift boo!  You may be able to get a lil cash for 'em.  (Wash them
                first though, lol)

HAPPY THRIFTING!
Cheers! ^_^
